Artist Thoughts

The inspiration for this series of paintings starts at a very spiritual level for myself. Having gone through a lot of dark places in my life, I found myself unable to see clearly. As if I was being blind folded throughout most of my life. When I created the idea of the blind fold in these paintings, was the moment when I was finally able to see what I was meant to all along. I found my freedom through God, and with accepting him fully into my life I was able to come up with these paintings to share with others his vision he showed through me. The blind fold represents the devil or being in the unknown of reality. It was allowing yourself to hide, or give excuses for not being able to move forward in achieving goals that turned into dreams. Having your eyes covered but your soul is being exposed to all of those misleading choices. Having the false feeling of being protected or feeling safe behind the darkness. Once you remove that it allows yourself to be exposed to all of the truth that has been hidden from you behind closed eyes. For me my blind fold was removed by the hands of God, he allowed me the gateway to acceptance, repenting, and starting anew. Giving you the sensation of finally moving in a direction guided by your pure motivation and choices that you act on with a good heart.
